Howdy friends!

Hello and welcome to our blog

Wait. That’s a little dry. Boring even. How about this:

You are about to enter into a world filled with epic adventures, thrilling endeavors, and edge of your seat experiences! Oh, and there will be dogs.

We are Kris and Shari, and the dog that will fill a lot of these pages is Bayley, our 10 year old Border Collie who, if you read her bio on the “About” page, is by far the most adorable dog of her breed ever! She will occasionally contribute to this blog and we think you’ll find her perspective on things a little interesting.

Most of the writing here will be submitted by Kris. She is the main contributor to the web page and is in charge of all other social media platforms, including our YouTube channel. Shari will write posts as things come up in our travels and adventures that interest her.

The plan is to have a new blog post every Wednesday with topics ranging from how we like our coffee to our favorite hiking trails to Bayley’s daily routine. We like to keep things light and fun here so the posts will be factual and informative when necessary but will always have a flare of humor thrown in. Rest assured though that if a serious topic is covered it will be given the respect that it deserves.

For a broad idea of what we might write about, we are currently selling our house and plan to buy a cargo van that we will convert into a tiny home on wheels. We are also going to return to North Carolina and finish our thru hike of the Appalachian Trail in 2021 (our 2020 trip was sidelined due to Covid-19). Once we are full-time van lifers we will be starting a mobile online business, working jobs at various locations while on the road, visiting many of our beautiful National Parks and public lands, possibly hiking another long trail (PCT?), and much more. 

The only thing we ask of you is to share in our enjoyment of the day! We want to create a community of friends who have fun, positive attitudes and outlooks on life and who are willing to learn from each other and help each other grow.

We hope you come back each week to get a glimpse into our lives and to see what fun things we’ve been up to. Thanks for coming along!
