Our mission and goal for this website, and other social media platforms, is to create a community of like-minded friends who want to explore with us, share experiences so we can learn from each other, and, most importantly, have fun along the way!
Our plans for the future include returning to the Appalachian Trail in early 2021 to finish the adventure that was cut short due to the COVID closures and restrictions in 2020. We then plan on exploring our very own backyard! There are so many beautiful places right here in the United States to visit and we plan on traveling around the country seeing them all in our converted cargo van.
That’s right – we’re going to live the “van life”!
When we return from the AT in the fall we will purchase our van (right now the Ford Transit is top on our list) and begin the conversion process. We will do most of the work ourselves and have been working on floor plans and ideas for some time now.
Our Big 2021 Adventure
We had to leave the Appalachian Trail in March of 2020 due to the COVID-19 outbreak and have been itching to get back!
Our start location and date for 2021 is Wayah Bald on March 22nd. This is where and when we were forced off trail in 2020. We are picking up right where we left off!
There will be daily videos of our journey and we’d love for you follow along!
Our house SOLD!!
We accepted an offer on our house in late October with the buyers wanting to close before Thanksgiving – just shy of 4 weeks! Well, that didn’t happen and we ended up signing three extensions with them before finally closing on December 31st.
With the house finally sold, we are now completely free to move forward with our plans for 2021. What a great way to ring in the new year!
Drone Pilot Licensing
The FAA requires all drone pilots to have a valid remote pilot certificate if you are more than just a hobbyist – meaning you are making money with your drone.
We plan on exploring the many options available for us to turn our hobby into a business. Stay tuned for more info on our path to becoming licensed drone pilots!
